In planning my own fall wardrobe changes, I am gathering all sorts of information and inspiration from some of the loveliest bloggers out there! This one is from A Pair and a Spare, a great DIY fashion blog that I've recently stumbled across and found to be full of money saving wardrobe advice. Here is her take on a basic all-season wardrobe, with the fun new seasonal pieces she plans on investing in this year! Check it out: A Pair and a Spare | DIY Fashion: AUTUMN WARDROBE PLANNER
More information on my upcoming clothes swap still to come! The pot is still boiling on when the best time to empty out our closets is, with summer here lingering like nobody's business!

Nothing to Wear
My name is Kristin and I have nothing to wear. This does not mean that I do not have a lot of clothes. I work in fashion retail and have an excess of everything. That being said, I find myself staring down my plentiful pieces and being unable to come up with outfits that give me confidence. It's a little bit embarrassing to style clients with ease when it took me a headache and a kick in the ass from my boyfriend to get dressed that morning!
I think my problem stems from several factors: a) my love of pattern and colour means that my many 'pieces' do not form a cohesive 'whole', b) my inability to let things go makes me a clothing collector and c) my low income justifies me buying a lot of single-season trendies and not enough of the classics. These, along with the fact that I am a relatively recent university graduate with no idea what demands my career path might make on my wardrobe, have combined to make the perfect storm of "nothing to wear".
So the goal is to create a wardrobe of more versatile pieces on my limited twenty-something budget, keeping in mind age appropriate style but matching it with separates and basics that allow me to dress with ease and a funky flare! This means getting rid of as many (and likely more) items than I acquire and using this blog as a centre of accountability and record-keeping.
The first of these is a list of what the Internets considers a solid wardrobe:
Evan will be helping me stick to it as the fall/winter season creeps ever closer! Here's to easier mornings!
Cheers,
Kristin

The first of these is a list of what the Internets considers a solid wardrobe:
- 2 pairs of pants
- 4 skirts
- 2 blouses
- 4 simple tops in coordinating colours
- 1 jacket
- 1 cardigan in a coordinating colour
- 3 long sleeve tops
- 1 printed skirt
- 1 printed blouse or top
